SUSTAINABILITY
Timber is the ultimate renewable.
Trees capture and store carbon. They are also renewable, recyclable and biodegradable. When we choose sustainably and responsibly harvested timber over other materials, we reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and their consequent carbon emissions.

As most of us already know, without trees to produce oxygen, we would almost certainly cease to exist. This alone is a good incentive to protect this valuable resource, but we do also need a certain amount of harvested timber in our modern world. Here’s where the timber industry and the environment can come together and work harmoniously by producing and using sustainable timber.
FSC certification
The FSC certifies forests that meet strict environmental, social, and economic standards. LV Dohnt recognises these standards include maintaining biodiversity, protecting workers' rights, and monitoring environmental impacts.
Essentially, sustainable timber is sourced from a forest where environmental, economical and social factors are all considered equal. Sustainable forests are managed with all environmental impacts considered. These considerations include many factors, including protecting the local wildlife & native vegetation.
Perhaps a lesser known fact is that all Australian natural forests which are managed for timber production, are regrown by law. Therefore Australia’s forest industry is not deforestation by definition, but encourages regrowth in perpetuity.
